How This Practice Found Me

Ten years ago, I found myself on a 7-day retreat with Trish Whelan at Soul Adventures. I had been searching - trying therapy, meditation apps, all the things we're told will help when we can't seem to settle. I was functioning, but I was also constantly braced, my nervous system a quiet alarm that never quite turned off.

On that retreat, something shifted. Not in a lightning bolt way, but in a deep, cellular recognition. This wasn't about fixing what was broken. It was about reclaiming what I'd forgotten.

This practice taught me that healing happens when we turn inward - when we allow the body to soften, the breath to move, the energy to shift in its own time. Not because someone else fixes us, but because we remember how to come home to ourselves.

The Mother's Path

Becoming a mother to my daughter, Indigo, was when the real work began. As a single parent, I found myself living in survival mode - always reactive, always holding it together, always one breath away from overwhelm.

I came face to face with inherited patterns, the ways I'd learned to cope that had helped me survive but weren't serving me anymore. The constant doing. The never quite feeling enough. The inability to simply be without treating rest like an emergency.

And in that raw, honest space, the healing deepened. I learned that a regulated nervous system isn't about perfection or having it all together. It's about meeting life with presence instead of panic. It's about coming back to yourself, again and again, even when it's hard.

From this lived experience, my teaching was born - not from performance, but from the real, messy work of trying to parent, heal, and not lose myself in the process.

Shamanic Kundalini Yoga

Shamanic Kundalini Yoga is an ancient practice that works with breath, movement, sound, and the natural elements to shift what's been stuck - physically, emotionally, spiritually. It clears energy blocks and invites you to reconnect with the innate healer within.

Rather than forcing transformation, this practice invites a gradual softening. Your nervous system gets to settle first, and from that place of regulation, clarity naturally follows. It's a return to rhythm - to the quiet pulse that lives beneath everything.

I trained with Trish Whelan, a renowned Shamanic Kundalini Yoga teacher, Shamanic Healer, Reiki Master and Sound Healing Therapist who has been presenting transformational retreats since 2013 through Soul Adventures. We work with the medicine wheel, honor all the elements, and move through ancestral patterns with breath, prayer and presence.

In many shamanic societies, when someone came to a medicine person feeling disheartened or depressed, they would be asked: When did you stop dancing? When did you stop singing? When did you stop being enchanted by stories? When did you stop finding comfort in the sweet territory of silence?

This practice asks the same questions. It invites you back to what you've forgotten.

How I Work

Shamanic Kundalini Yoga is the foundation of what I offer - breathwork, movement, sound and mantra that help your nervous system remember it's safe to let go.

I'm also trained in myofascial therapy through the Alchemy of Touch. For those seeking deeper somatic release, this gentle hands-on work can be woven into sessions as an elevated treatment - helping the body release what it's been holding, sometimes for years.

Sessions are slow, attuned, and responsive. They're guided by what's present rather than what the plan says should happen. Your nervous system gets space to feel safe enough for real release, in its own time.

I hold space in a dedicated healing sanctuary in Cheshire - a calm, intentionally created studio where you can exhale. Sessions are also available online for those who prefer to practice from home.
